Job/Company Overview 

Essential Turbines (ETI) is seeking an experienced Buyer for MRO Operations to support our growing and expanding US-based operations. This role will partner with other Supply Chain Team members globally and will report to the Director of Supply Chain and US Operations. Key to this role is the ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment, bring to bear solid supply chain activities, which include provisioning, planning, procurement, supplier management, sourcing, and inventory control principles. Essential to the success of the role is a roll up the sleeves, grittiness that translates to rapid integration and quick delivery to support US requirements.

Essential Turbines Inc. (ETI) is a leading Engine MRO providing services across the globe. ETI operates out of facilities in Montreal, Vancouver, Malta, and Phoenix, AZ. Our company specializes in the RR250 & RR300 Engines (Rolls-Royce) and has special capabilities in mature engines for fighter jets. We have a global base of operators and customers in various industries, including emergency services, law enforcement, agriculture, industrial, and tourism. ETI strives to be the leader in high-touch customer service, leading turnaround times, and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Turbine Engine Procurement

  • Procure turbine engine components and accessories, including:
  • Life‑Limited Parts (LLPs)
  • Rotables and line‑replaceable units (LRUs)
  • Engine modules, hardware, and consumables
  • Accessory gearboxes, fuel systems, and control components
  • Source parts through OEMs, authorized distributors, repair stations, DER/PMA suppliers, and approved secondary markets
  • Purchase engine repair and overhaul services for internal and external engine work scopes

Repair & Overhaul Support

  • Coordinate repair sourcing for turbine engine parts in line with engine work scopes
  • Evaluate repair vs. replace decisions in partnership with engineering, quality, and operations
  • Manage repair order issuance, tracking, expediting, and return‑to‑service documentation
  • Support AOG and critical engine events with expedited sourcing and recovery actions

Planning, Scheduling & Expediting

  • Convert MRP/planning requirements into purchase and repair orders aligned with engine production schedules
  • Expedite long‑lead turbine components to prevent engine flow disruptions
  • Communicate material status and risk to planning and operations teams
  • Identify alternate sourcing or repair pathways when constraints arise

Quality, Traceability & Compliance

  • Ensure all turbine engine material meets FAA/EASA airworthiness, traceability, and certification standards
  • Validate OEM, PMA, 8130‑3, EASA Form 1, and repair station documentation prior to acceptance
  • Maintain compliance with ITAR, EAR, and the company's export control and quality procedures
  • Support customer, regulatory, and internal audits related to purchased engine material

Inventory & Cost Management

  • Support management of engine‑specific inventory, minimizing excess and obsolescence of high‑value turbine components
  • Assist with cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, and root cause analysis
  • Track cost drivers related to premium sourcing, expediting, and repair turn times

Supplier & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Maintain strong relationships with turbine engine OEMs, repair stations, and specialty suppliers
  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to support engine program execution
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to sourcing, repair strategy, and supplier performance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5+ years of buying or procurement experience in turbine engine MRO , aerospace, or a closely regulated aviation environment
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing:
  • Turbine engine parts and accessories
  • Engine repairs and overhaul services
  • Strong understanding of airworthiness, traceability, and turbine engine documentation requirements
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in an MRO or production environment
  • Ability to manage multiple engine work scopes in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven operation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Direct experience with Rolls‑Royce M250 / RR300 or similar turboshaft or turboprop engine platforms
  • Knowledge of turbine engine module‑level repair strategies
  • Experience in secondary market turbine engine sourcing
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 145 repair station operations

REGULATORY & COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

In compliance with federal law, all applicants must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States. This role requires access to export‑controlled technical data and hardware subject to ITAR (22 CFR Parts 120–130) and EAR (15 CFR Parts 730–774).

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office-based in Mesa, AZ, with regular presence on the MRO shop floor. Travel required to supplier sites, ETI global locations, and industry events.
