Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Radiopharmaceutical (Seed Stage)
Job Number: 37029
Location: Boston,MA
Job Description
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the company through its seed stage into a successful Series A raise and early pipeline development. This role requires a highly entrepreneurial leader with deep domain understanding of radiopharmaceuticals (or adjacent modalities), strong business instincts, and the ability to drive strategic clarity with limited resources.
The CEO will be responsible for shaping the scientific, operational, and financial trajectory of the company, establishing the initial team, and creating the partnerships critical to radiopharma success (CMC, isotope supply, manufacturing, academic collaborations, CDMOs, etc.).
This is an opportunity to build a category-defining platform from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Define and refine the company’s scientific and corporate strategy, ensuring a clear path from platform concept to validated preclinical programs.
Prioritize high-value indications, modularity opportunities, and translational paths suitable for a capital-efficient seed-to-Series-A plan.
Establish milestone-driven development plans with an emphasis on derisking early scientific and operational assumptions.
Lead all financing activities from seed expansion to Series A.
Build meaningful relationships with venture investors, strategic partners, and potential co-development collaborators.
Craft a compelling company narrative and communicate progress with transparency and precision.
Recruit, lead, and develop a lean, high-caliber early-stage team across R&D, operations, and program management.
Foster a hands-on, data-driven, execution-focused culture built for smart risk-taking and rapid learning.
Engage and manage scientific founders, advisors, and early SAB members to maximize platform development.
Identify and negotiate partnerships with key radiopharma ecosystem players (isotope suppliers, GMP radiochemistry manufacturing, CDMOs, CROs, academic collaborators).
Build relationships with KOLs in radiochemistry, nuclear medicine, oncology, and targeted therapeutics.
Ensure early-stage regulatory planning aligns with the company’s go-to-clinic strategy.
Oversee all core operations including budgeting, resource allocation, infrastructure build-out, and risk management.
Implement efficient processes to support platform development without over-scaling too early.
Ensure the company meets all compliance requirements relevant to radiopharma R&D (safety, isotope handling, facility agreements, licensing, etc.).
Required Skills
Background in radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear medicine, oncology drug development, or advanced modality therapeutics.
Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: radiochemistry, ligand design, imaging agents, targeted radio-therapeutics, or radiopharma CMC.
Understanding of isotope sourcing, regulatory considerations, supply chain constraints, and clinical development pathways unique to radiopharma.
Prior experience as a founder, CEO, COO, CSO, Head of R&D, or senior BD leader at an early-stage biotech.
Demonstrated ability to raise capital, build investor trust, and communicate a compelling scientific story.
Proven success working within resource-constrained environments that require prioritization and disciplined execution.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action.
Strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity and can drive clarity from incomplete data.
Exceptional communicator—scientifically credible, commercially sharp, and emotionally intelligent.
Comfortable balancing science, capital, people, and partnerships to accelerate value creation.
Lead the creation of a new radiopharmaceutical platform at the ground level.
Build a company culture, scientific strategy, and pipeline with real autonomy and ownership.
Work directly with world-class founders, investors, and advisors.
Shape a high-growth company in one of the most exciting and clinically meaningful modalities of modern oncology.
