Job Description

Careerscape is placing a Cybersecurity Analyst for our client, a financial services company based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is a contract engagement supporting a hybrid work schedule, with on-site presence expected several days per week at their Center City office. The role is part of a broader security operations initiative focused on strengthening threat detection and incident response capabilities.

In this position, you will monitor enterprise security infrastructure, investigate alerts, and coordinate responses to security events. You will work alongside internal IT and compliance teams to assess vulnerabilities, enforce security policies, and maintain tooling across the organization's network and endpoint environment. The pace is steady and the scope is broad, covering both day-to-day operations and longer-term risk reduction projects.

This engagement is suitable for security professionals with a solid background in SIEM platforms, network security, and regulatory frameworks. The client operates in a regulated industry, so familiarity with compliance requirements such as SOX or GLBA is an advantage. The contract is scoped for six months with potential for extension based on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and events across SIEM and endpoint detection platforms
  • Investigate and document security incidents through full resolution
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with IT teams
  • Analyze network traffic, firewall logs, and system events for anomalous behavior
  • Maintain and tune security tools including IDS/IPS, DLP, and SIEM configurations
  • Support internal and external compliance audits with documentation and evidence
  • Develop and update security runbooks, policies, and incident response procedures
  • Communicate findings and risk summaries to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and endpoint security controls
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7
  • Familiarity with security frameworks including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
  • One or more relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
  • Experience supporting incident response and conducting root cause analysis
  • Strong written communication skills for documentation and stakeholder reporting

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate paid weekly via direct deposit
  • Hybrid schedule with flexibility on remote days
  • Engagement with enterprise-scale security infrastructure and tooling
  • Exposure to a regulated financial services environment
  • Collaborative team with experienced security and IT professionals
  • Potential for contract extension based on project performance
  • Access to Careerscape's contractor support resources throughout the engagement
  • Opportunity for consideration for full-time roles at contract conclusion
