Job Description

We are seeking a Survey Manager-PLS with a minimum of 5 years of land surveying experience. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of survey crews to support a broad range of land surveying and related services for federal, state, and private clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support all survey operations (topographic, control, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, as-built surveys) from planning through delivery.
  • Provide leadership support for the survey department, including staff performance, structure, and overall direction
  • Serve as the technical expert, ensuring accuracy, defensibility, and adherence to professional standards and regulations
  • Provide QA/QC support across all survey data, mapping, and deliverables
  • Own project delivery performance, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and aligned with client expectations
  • Manage client relationships and act as a senior advisor, supporting developers, municipalities, attorneys, and internal teams
  • Help manage financial performance of the department, including budgeting, forecasting, utilization, and profitability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and environmental teams to support land development projects
  • Develop and mentor team members, building a strong pipeline of future leaders and promoting professional licensure

Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the state of Pennsylvania and/or Delaware.
  • 5+ years of land surveying experience, with strong expertise in ALTA, boundary, topographic, and land development work
  • Proven leadership experience in managing survey teams, operations, and project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to review, certify, and take responsibility for survey deliverables
  • Strong understanding of boundary law, title research, and applicable survey standards
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, and team utilization
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and modern survey equipment/technology
  • Client-facing experience, including scoping, proposals, and relationship management
