Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated, results-driven Packaging Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for both new business development (hunting) and managing an existing portfolio of clients (farming). You will consult with clients to understand their packaging needs, offer customized solutions, and drive revenue growth in your assigned territory. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively prospect via phone and email to secure appointments with the goal of building a pipeline to acquire new customers within the assigned geography.
  • Nurture relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and identify opportunities for consumables and machinery.
  • Analyze customer operations to offer tailored packaging solutions that reduce total cost, improve sustainability, or increase efficiency.
  • Prepare and present proposals, negotiate pricing, and close opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal customer service, purchasing, technical service, and design teams to ensure accurate, timely order fulfillment.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer contacts, and pipeline opportunities using Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of current and new packaging materials, technologies, and industry sustainability trends. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proven sales track record of at least 3-5+ years with custom solutions products and services, preferably in the packaging distribution, corrugated, or industrial products.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work comfortably with Google Maps, Zoom Info while capturing all information in a CRM.
  • Ability to upsell, cross-sell, and negotiate in a dynamic industry and provide a consultative sales approach to clients and prospective clients while implementing superior customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to research, build and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Must be able to consistently demonstrate ability to meet sales quotas and make positive contributions to the company’s sales strategy and profit goals.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to demonstrate effective communication with a diverse group and multiple levels of the organization and with external clients and leads.
