Position: Senior Accountant

Location: Towson, MD

Compensation: $75,000 $95,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package

About the Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base while taking on a key role in accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and staff oversight. The ideal candidate will have strong public accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger balances.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assess internal controls, perform risk assessments, and review areas of potential risk.
• Assist with budget preparation and perform annual budget variance analysis.
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile debt schedules.
• Review accounting records and financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Support tax preparation and compliance activities as needed.
• Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to accounting staff.
• Communicate effectively with clients, management, and internal teams.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required.
• Public accounting or CPA firm experience strongly preferred.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA licensure is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
