Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner to lead product strategy and execution for government contracting initiatives. This is a full-time position based at our BizBone US Office. The Senior Product Owner will serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams, driving product vision, managing backlogs, and ensuring delivery of high-value solutions that meet mission-critical requirements. With 8-10 years of experience, the ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, deep domain expertise, and proven ability to navigate complex government contracting environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate product vision and strategy aligned with organizational goals and government client mission requirements
- Lead and prioritize product backlog management , ensuring user stories are clearly defined, estimated, and sequenced to maximize business value
- Serve as primary stakeholder liaison , facilitating communication between government clients, end users, technical teams, and executive leadership
- Drive agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to maintain team alignment and momentum
- Translate complex stakeholder requirements into actionable, well-documented user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Make critical trade-off decisions balancing scope, schedule, budget constraints, and compliance requirements inherent to government contracts
- Monitor product performance metrics and KPIs , conducting data-driven analysis to inform continuous improvement and strategic pivots
- Ensure compliance with government regulations , security protocols, and contractual obligations throughout the product lifecycle
- Mentor and guide cross-functional teams , fostering a collaborative culture focused on delivering mission-critical outcomes
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation within the government contracting space
- Manage stakeholder expectations through transparent communication, regular status updates, and proactive risk mitigation
- Champion user-centered design principles , advocating for end-user needs while balancing technical feasibility and business constraints
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of progressive experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role with demonstrated success in government contracting or professional services environments
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field
- Expert-level proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies with proven ability to lead product development in fast-paced, iterative environments
- Deep understanding of government contracting lifecycle , including procurement processes, compliance requirements, and stakeholder management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience translating complex requirements into actionable product roadmaps
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to influence and align diverse stakeholder groups at all organizational levels
- Demonstrated experience managing product backlogs using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar agile project management platforms
- Proven track record of delivering products on time and within budget while maintaining high quality standards
- Experience with data-driven decision making , including defining success metrics, analyzing performance data, and implementing improvements
- Strong leadership presence with ability to drive consensus, resolve conflicts, and motivate cross-functional teams
Certifications / Licensure
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) preferred
- SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification preferred
Required Education
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on federal, state, or local government contracts with knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations
- Background in digital transformation initiatives within government or highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and modern software development lifecycle tools
- Experience with user research methodologies and human-centered design approaches
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (Section 508) and inclusive design principles
- Previous experience in a client-facing role managing executive-level stakeholder relationships
- Advanced certifications in Product Management or Business Analysis
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work full-time at BizBone US Office location
- Overtime work is allowed and may be required to meet project deadlines or support critical deliverables
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- May require occasional travel to client sites or company locations
- Must demonstrate strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive government information
