Job Summary: Serves a primary role in the support of software programs or modules across multiple clinical and/or business functions. Understands the business environment and the impact IT can have on the business environment. Provides analysis and support for installed systems, as well as system implementation and integration projects, which require systems analysis, design, build, testing and implementation for specific modules or applications.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Functions as a liaison between clinical, business, and technical areas during the planning process and provides oversight throughout the project cycle.
  • Builds credibility and rapport with customers to understand their needs.
  • Research requests to determine scope, size and impact.
  • Validates requirement information with the stakeholders to ensure completeness, correctness, and clarity. Validates solutions to ensure it satisfies the stated requirements.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of existing systems and certification in the vended application.
  • Able to design, develop, or modify applications, algorithms, or rules via vendor tools or augmented tools developed within client Clinic and are able to validate data integrity of changes introduced.
  • Works on strategic projects with a Project Manager and is able to manage small- to mid-sized operational projects independently.
  • Works independently across multiple departments and divisions in order to accomplish goals.
  • Creates test plans and evaluates current plans for improvement.
  • Guides and advises less experienced business analysts and provides orientation and training for new employees.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies that directly affect enterprise processes.
  • Maintains awareness of overall enterprise architecture.
  • May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support. Please refer to Schedule Notes for requirements

Skills: APPLICATION ANALYSIS

Education: Required Education:-Bachelor's Degree with four (4) years' experience.

OR

-Associate's degree with six (6) years' experience.

Required Certifications & Licensure: Vendor application certification may be required, (certifications will be added to the Job details if required by Manager).

Role Summary


The Epic Beaker Certified Analyst / Consultant provides consulting and implementation support for laboratory information systems within an academic medical center environment. This role is responsible for the configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic Beaker Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP) modules, working in close partnership with laboratory leadership, pathologists, clinical stakeholders, and IT teams.

The consultant ensures Epic Beaker solutions align with clinical workflows, operational needs, regulatory requirements, and institutional standards, while supporting high-quality patient care and laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities


Provide Epic Beaker AP and CP configuration, build, optimization, and support services
Partner with laboratory stakeholders, pathologists, and clinical teams to understand workflows and requirements
Translate laboratory business and clinical needs into effective Epic Beaker system design and configuration
Support academic medical center laboratory environments, including complex anatomic and clinical pathology workflows
Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, and large-scale optimization initiatives as needed
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure system stability, integration, and adherence to best practices
Support laboratory regulatory, accreditation, and compliance needs (e.g., CAP, CLIA) through system design and documentation
Produce clear documentation, analysis, and deliverables appropriate for consulting and SOW-based engagements
Provide guidance and recommendations to improve efficiency, quality, and usability of laboratory systems

Required Qualifications


Active Epic Beaker certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP)
Proven experience supporting Epic Beaker in an academic medical center or complex healthcare environment
Hands-on experience with Epic Beaker build, configuration, and optimization
Strong understanding of clinical pathology and anatomic pathology workflows and laboratory operations
Demonstrated ability to translate laboratory business requirements into Epic Beaker solutions
Strong collaboration skills with laboratory leadership, clinicians, and IT partners
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Experience working in consulting, SOW-based, or vendor-supported engagements



Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications


Data Innovations (DI) certification
Experience supporting or integrating laboratory middleware solutions (e.g., Data Innovations)
Prior participation in Epic implementations, upgrades, or enterprise optimization efforts
Familiarity with laboratory regulatory and accreditation standards (CAP, CLIA, etc.)
Experience working under vendor contracts, statements of work (SOWs), or staff augmentation models

Schedule Notes: Brief Scope of Work:

  • client Clinic is seeking six (6) Senior Epic Beaker Application Analysts to support the Wilson Project. These roles will provide senior-level support across system analysis, design, build, testing, validation, and implementation of Epic Beaker and related laboratory systems.
  • All resources will: Support the full system lifecycle (requirements design build testing implementation)
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical, operational, and technical teams
  • Perform system configuration, validation, and data integrity checks
  • Support testing cycles (Clinical Content Validation/ Instrument and non-instrument Mapped Record Testing), build change requests, and Go Live readiness activities

Epic Beaker Build Analysts (2 Positions)

Focus: High-volume build, configuration, and optimization of Epic Beaker (AP/CP)

  • Helping create and execute overall build strategy for key efforts (outstanding worklists, specimen storage, QC build, etc.)
  • Lead build activities aligned to operational test change backlog and design decisions
  • Translate requirements into system configuration
  • Support design validation and workflow optimization

Requirements:

  • Epic Beaker certification (AP and/or CP strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree + 4 years experience or Associate's degree + 6 years experience
  • Demonstrated experience with: Systems analysis, design, build, testing, and implementation
  • Requirements gathering and validation with stakeholders
  • Complex system integration efforts
  • Ability to: Resolve complex technical and operational issues
  • Manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams
  • Work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Experience supporting testing (UAT, validation, defect resolution)

Nice to Haves/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data Innovations (DI) experience (required for 1 of 6 roles)
  • Interface and instrument integration experience
  • Experience in large-scale healthcare/Epic implementations
  • Familiarity with Epic build environment and code migration
