Quality Control Inspector (CWI / ASNT VT Level II)

Wausau, WI

Multiple Shifts Available (1st / 2nd / 3rd)

A leading U.S. structural steel fabricator is hiring a Quality Control Inspector to support bridge and heavy structural steel fabrication at its Wausau, Wisconsin facility . This is a hands-on shop role focused on weld quality, dimensional accuracy, and strict code compliance on high-tonnage infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do

• Perform visual weld inspections , dimensional checks, and verify compliance with approved WPS
• Ensure welders are properly qualified and support production with real-time QC decisions
• Document inspections, maintain QC records, and support hold points and internal audits
• Assist with layout verification and Total Station measurements where required
• Work closely with fabrication and welding teams to maintain quality and schedule

What You Need

• AWS CWI or ASNT VT Level II (required)
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and weld symbols
• Solid working knowledge of AWS D1.1 / bridge fabrication standards
• Prior steel fabrication or shop-floor QC experience strongly preferred

Pay & Overtime

• $38/hr – Standard CWI
• $42/hr – CWI + MT/PT/UT
• $45/hr – CWI + MT/PT/UT + NACE Bridge
• Overtime:
• 1.5× after 40 hours
• 2× after 50 hours
