Job Description

2026 Summer Internship

Location | Houston, TX | On-Site

Duration: 12 – 14 weeks | Full-Time | Paid

Program Overview:

The 2026 Summer Internship at Lionsmark Investment Group, LLC is an internship program designed to immerse candidates in the world of real estate private equity. As an intern, you will work across the whole facet of our business including asset management, operations, as well as our acquisition pipeline of multifamily & industrial properties across TX and the Southeastern U.S. We are seeking a candidate available for a 12–14-week engagement, beginning in late May or early June and concluding in August 2026.

The internship is designed to refine existing financial modeling proficiency, gain exposure to investment committee discussions, and build underwriting & operations experience that typically requires years to develop at larger firms. Guided by an entrepreneurial culture and lean team structure, candidates will work in a close-knit environment where every team member's contribution is visible and meaningful.

Additionally, this candidate will spend ~20% of their time with the Managing Partner’s affiliated venture capital business Starboard Star Venture Capital, LLC where they will help with investment due diligence, investor relations, and portfolio analysis. No previous venture capital experience is required.

Program Highlights:

• Exposure to live investment committee discussions, with opportunities to contribute analysis and perspectives

• Direct, day-to-day mentorship across the full team – investments, asset management, and operations – providing exposure to how an entire real estate private equity business operates

• The internship is structured to accelerate development in financial modeling, underwriting, and investment decision-making

• Site tours of portfolio assets and projects under active evaluation

• A close-knit team environment where your work matters from day one

• Capstone project: present a live deal recommendation to firm leadership

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of detailed Excel financial models, working alongside the acquisitions team

• Assist in drafting investment memos, market overviews, and presentation materials for internal investment committee and external stakeholders

• Conduct market research, comparable property analysis, and lease abstracting

• Support active due diligence – lease review, OpEx analysis, capital planning

• Monitor property and portfolio performance, creating dashboards and reporting tools

• Interns will also contribute to the integration of AI tools across sourcing, underwriting, and internal workflows

What Success Looks Like:

• Builds and improves financial models used in live investment decisions

• Produces clear, concise investment memos and market analyses

• Demonstrates ownership and follow-through on assigned workstreams

• Develops sound judgment in evaluating opportunities

• Earns increasing responsibility through initiative and attention to detail

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is sharp, resourceful, and genuinely excited about commercial real estate. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and working in a small-team environment where ownership, flexibility, and initiative are the norm.

• Prior internship or experience in real estate, financial modeling, or investment banking preferred

• Rising Junior, Senior, or MBA student with coursework in Real Estate, Finance, or Economics (or applicable degree)

• Proficiency utilizing AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT

• Excel proficiency (dynamic cash flows, sensitivity analyses, and lookup functions)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis into concise insights

• While not required, an interest in venture capital and start up investing is a plus

Compensation:

• Pay rate commensurate with skills and experience
