BNI Treatment Centers is seeking an experienced and passionate Primary Therapist to join our dynamic clinical team.
We are an acute residential treatment center serving adolescents ages 12–17 who are struggling with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. Our program is dedicated to stabilizing, treating, and empowering teens through individualized, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care.
Our multidisciplinary team collaborates closely to develop comprehensive treatment plans that restore stability, strengthen family systems, and place adolescents on a sustainable path forward.

Position Overview
The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing and overseeing therapeutic services for assigned patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership within the treatment team, and the ability to manage complex adolescent cases in a structured residential setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide ongoing individual and family therapy services to assigned patients
• Conduct comprehensive intakes, biopsychosocial assessments, and diagnostic evaluations
• Develop, implement, and oversee individualized treatment plans
• Coordinate care with MFT Associates, Case Managers, and Psychiatrists
• Facilitate and actively participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
• Lead discharge planning and aftercare coordination
• Provide crisis intervention to patients and families as needed
• Deliver clinical guidance and training to direct care staff regarding supervision and therapeutic interventions
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation

Required Credentials
Applicants must hold one of the following California credentials:
• Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PsyD or PhD)
• Registered Psychological Associate (Associate PsyD / PhD, supervision provided if applicable)
• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Additional Requirements:
• Experience working with adolescents (residential or higher level of care preferred)
• Strong diagnostic and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to a full-time, in-person role
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
